Membership

and how to join

As you will have read elsewhere on this site Old Basing U3A was started in 1998 and since then has grown its membership to over 400. We continue to welcome new members each month.

If you feel any of the activities you have browsed on this web site are something you would like to get involved in, or you would like to introduce something new, then perhaps you are considering joining us too. If so, read on!

Membership is open to anyone 55 years or older and not in full time employment.

Membership fees are only £12 per year (Sept-Aug) with nominal attendance fees (typically 50p) for each activity group meeting attended.

We invite prospective members to come along to a monthly meeting in the Elizabeth Hall, Hook. These are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 2.00pm. At these meetings we review and update the membership with individual group news and normally have an external speaker on a topic of general interest. Attendance provides an insight into our organisation and gives prospective members the chance to see if what we offer is what they would be interested in. There is no obligation to join until they have had a good look at us!!

Alternatively, don't hesitate to phone Rosemary Ball, our Membership Secretary. You will find her friendly face and telephone number on our Officers Page.
