Basic Italian

The Italian Basic group has now been using the Italianissimo 1 BBC book and tapes since September '07 and now has 8 members. Some of the intermediate group ‘sit in’ to reinforce their knowledge but the focus is on the beginners.

The group meets on the 2nd and 3rd and 4th Tuesdays at 9.45 a.m. for one hour followed by coffee.

Intermediate Italian

This group is a mixture of people who have moved up from the Beginners Group and those returning to the language after some years. This group is now using the BBC Italianissimo 2 book and tapes and using other study material as well. Some members organise and attended language schools in Italy most years. There are 8 members on the roll. Some beginners sit in to get further experience of the language. The group meets on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesdays at 10.45 a.m. They join the beginners for coffee and start work at 11a.m. until noon.

These two groups meet in a private house in Old Basing and are taught by a team of three which helps to maintain continuity.

Italian Conversation

We meet twice a month in Oakley and Old Basing. There are six on the roll including Vicky, an Italian lady who used to teach the language. We are looking for confident members from the Intermediate Group to join us.

The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 10 a.m. for an hour.

We are fortunate that Vicky usually joins all groups.
